What do we mean by modern because even nutty theories on visual art know that now will be yesterday tomorrow, we therefore need a more modern word for being contemporary: we are older than postmoderns that is neo-modernists or hyper-modernists. Advanced artworks are made recently, but are labelled tomorow's art because futurism is now such an antique art movement.

Art desire and artistic identity exist on a continuum, spilling over the neat labels we create to contain them. Artworks painting different pictures of life cannot be classified in a style without constraints, at the cost of a significant loss of information.
Given that newer-is-better is an old and dusty point of view, why not turning to older-is-better for a more trendy taste? Ernst Gombrich has a book for you (The Preference for the Primitive).
